With Edinburgh Fringe fast approaching, Jordan’s debut special Jordan Gray: People Change is on the preview trail, having premiered at G&B (Soho) and smashing the knickers off its official press preview at the grand Curtain Hotel (Shoreditch).

“At the press night for the omni-talented Jordan Gray’s new show. Delivering a joyously electric performance, ‘People Change’ is a genuine comedy treat from start to finish. Loved it!” ★★★★★ – Sarah O’Connell

The hour-special traverses themes of transgenderism (obvs), the music biz, comedy itself, sexuality, reality telly and the story of Genesis. Musical ditties punctuate a solid hour of fast-paced stand-up with Jordan bouncing between her piano stool and the audience’s laps.

Recently, a last-minute preview at ALSO Festival in Warwickshire garnered a sexy little ★★★★★ review from Laura Thomas for London Theatre 1. (BELOW)

People Change by Jordan Gray at the Also Festival Warwickshire

“Jordan Gray’s first comedy show “People Change” is frenetic and charming. Jordan casts such a spell on her audience that at one point an audience member tied a shoelace for her. Jordan, a veteran of reality television and BBC’s “The Voice” talks mischievously about herself, making relatable her journey as singer, comedian, reality television star, transgender person whilst channelling Bette Midler, Russel Brand, Tim Minchin and Victoria Wood. As a transgender woman, Jordan is no stranger to comparison, you’d be forgiven for missing just how good Jordan Gray is. Even her most puerile d*** joke’s are the smartest you’ll laugh at and she resurrects a Tim Minchin idea to grand heights. A Catherine Tate style show at the BBC would be the ideal showcase for the supremely talented Ms Gray. Go see her now before she takes over the mainstream” – David Ferguson (Bum)

And finally (in the interest of balance) the press preview grabbed a cheeky little ★★★ from Chortle’s Steve Bennett, stating:

“her debut show is free of both angsty ‘personal journey’ introspection and overtly drum-beating gender pride.  She gets her story and viewpoint cross simply by being an engaging, effervescent presence, speaking of her life with wit, honesty and no small measure of showwomanship.” (FULL REVIEW BELOW)
